Feline Woman - Xanthi

Ok. I admit it. I am nuts about my cats. And yes, I know that not everyone is as nuts about cats in general or my cats in particular as I am, but I don't care! I am still going to thrust adorable photos of them upon you until you scream for mercy or melt into a puddle of goo. Today's post is all about Xanthi.

Xanthi was our first cat (well, my first cat - my husband has had many a cat through the years). We got her from a rescue organisation (which, if you are thinking about getting a pet, I would encourage you to do) and I instantly fell in love with her. This photo was taken on the first night we brought her home.

She is a feisty little girl, and she is not generally the kind of cat who will sit on your lap or come when you call, but she has her ways to show her love. Like sleeping on top of you when you fall asleep...

...or keeping you company while you laze about...

...or helping you pick mandarins off your neighbour's tree that overhangs your fence.

She can often be found hanging out in the eaves of the house...

...or on the roof...

...or in the washing basket...

...or in a box...

...or anywhere she sees fit, no matter how ridiculous.

She won't be told what to do...

...and she won't be made fun of.

All in all, she is one awesome little girl, and I love her to pieces.

Next time, you will get to meet our other cat, Charlie, who likes to be just like her big sister!
